Nucrag, ID May 22, 1954 Ivan Ergish photo. Very rare photo of the water tower at Nucrag.

Jim Morefield writes, "Nucrag outfit spur with bridge crew camp cars. This photo was shot from the track above tunnel 1."

Jim Morefield writes, " This is the west switch to Nucrag with bridge 19 in the background."

Jim Morefield writes, "Milepost 21 with a push car and crummy set off to the side. The crummy was a non powered car used to haul extra men to the job site by the motorcar. The three bridges in the background are the east end of bridge 22 (halfmoon) at the edge of the crummy, bridge 22-1 and bridge 22-2."

April 27, 1952 Jim Morefield writes. "Appears to have been shot from the fill at the west end of tunnel 4. The east end of tunnel 2 is visible and the lower track goes out of sight just west of bridge 19."

May 22, 1954 Jim Morefield writes, "This shot was probably taken from near the halfmoon, bridge 17 is in the distance."

About 1/4 of the way in from the right side you can see a steam plume. This is from the FOURTH NP W-3 on a ballast train. If you look carefully you can see the smoke plumes of the other three locomotives. Jim Morefield writes, "This shot was also probably taken from near the halfmoon bridge. The ridge in the foreground with the dead snags on it is probably the ridge that tunnel 3 goes through. Look below the white steam and you can see bridge 19."
